A new crow in the nest!

We’re very pleased to welcome a new crow into the nest: Kirsten Muntendam, our new Rights and Digital Assistant, has started today! This was, I think, our most-applied-for job to date, with a huge number of applicants and some fierce competition, but Kirsten stood out right away with her enthusiasm and wit.

Here’s what she has to say about her first day here:

Today I’ve started my new position as a Digital and Rights Assistant at Nosy Crow, and I LOVE it. The office is lovely. The people are lovely. The books and apps are simply fabulous. What more does one want?

I have to admit though, I have always been slightly positively biased towards the company. You see, until two weeks ago I was a student of the Publishing MA at the University of Central Lancashire, and although you generally don’t tend to hear much about the smaller publishing companies when doing a course like that (focus lies often on the ‘big five’) my course leader was and is very enthusiastic about Nosy Crow. Imagine my excitement when I got invited for an interview and actually got the job! It is, in a way, a dream come true.

This morning I received a short(ish) introduction to all the projects I will be working on, and boy, it’s no wonder that Ola and Tom need an assistant. Preparations for the Frankfurt Bookfair are already in full swing, there’s the very exciting Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Children’s Publishing (But Were Afraid to Ask) conference coming up in September, and there are actually some books to publish as well! I am so excited to be here, and I’m very much looking forward to getting stuck in – which is exactly what I’m going to do as soon as I’ve finished writing this blog. You’ll no doubt be hearing from me again soon!

It’s great to have you here, Kirsten!
