Cinderella is one of the AASL’s Best Apps for Teaching and Learning

Yesterday we were thrilled to learn that our Cinderella app has been named as one of 2013’s Best Apps for Teaching and Learning by the American Association of School Librarians.

The AASL’s list sets out to recognise apps that foster the qualities of innovation, creativity, active participation, and collaboration, and are user friendly friendly to encourage a community of learners to explore and discover. In their citation for Cinderella, the AASL write:

“Nosy Crow’s Cinderella app engages young readers, encouraging them to explore and play with this original adaptation of the classic fairy tale. Beautiful illustrations draw readers right into the story, but the design keeps readers engaged as they explore the tap-activated dialog, scenes that extend beyond the screen, and narration that captures the playful tone of the story … It is perfect for close reading as the reader will find something new almost every time they read it over and over again.”

You can read the full list of recognised apps here.

If you haven’t already experienced the app, you can find it on the App Store here. And if you enjoy Cinderella, you’re bound to like our most recent fairytale, Little Red Riding Hood!
