Baby Aliens Got My Teacher – a guest post by Pamela Butchart

A guest post by Pamela Butchart, author of Baby Aliens Got My Teacher!

On Monday I had my first ever author event for Baby Aliens Got My Teacher! I had a FANTASTIC time, and all of the pupils and staff at Victoria Park Primary School in Dundee made me feel very welcome – thank you!

We talked about teachers, baby aliens-in-the-ear, pea phobias, and crisp twins – and although no member of P3 at Victoria Park Primary School has YET found their crisp twin, one girl DID tell me all about an apple she came across one time that was shaped EXACTLY like a whale (WOW).

The highlight of the morning was DEFINITELY when the pupils all made their very own BABY ALIENS! And as you can see from the picture above, they were all clearly AWESOME! Each unique baby alien was also given its very own name by its fabulous creator (my personal favourite was TENTACLEBUM!)

However, I must admit I DID get a bit of a fright when a little girl who strongly resembled one of the main characters in the book (Maisie) tried TWICE to slip her plasticine baby alien in my ear when I wasn’t looking!

I had such a fun morning, and as I was leaving (covered in plasticine) and the pupils went going out for their morning break, we spotted some of them examining their packets of crisps that bit more closely…

Thank you to Zakk, Cassie, Eve, Yunus, and EVERYONE else in P3 at Victoria Park – I had a fabulous time and I hope that you did too!

Baby Aliens Got My Teacher isn’t out until next year, but if you’d like to find out the significance of crisp twins, pea phobias, and aliens-in-ears, sign up to our Books Newsletter and we’ll let you know as soon as the book is available.
