Come to the next Nosy Crow Reading Group – we’re reading The Mystery of the Clockwork Sparrow

The next edition of the Nosy Crow Reading Group is coming up soon – and we’d love for you to join in!

We’ll be meeting to discuss the The Mystery of the Clockwork Sparrow by Katherine Woodfine, the first book in an Edwardian-era mystery-adventure series set in the glamorous department store of Sinclair’s. Rooftoppers author Katherine Rundell described it as “a wonderful book, with a glorious heroine and a true spirit of adventure.”

As usual, we’ve prepared a few questions in advance to get everyone thinking – here’s some of what we might be talking about:

1. Who do you think this book is “for”?

2. How important do you think plot is in The Mystery of the Clockwork Sparrow?

3. How much do you think the book relies on its period setting? How successfully do you think this is evoked?

The reading group will be taking place on Wednesday, September 23rd at 6.30pm, here at the Nosy Crow offices – 10a Lant Street, London, SE1 1QR. At the time of writing, there is exactly ONE place left, if you’d like to join us. You can register for a place with the form below, or at this page.

And if you can’t make it here, but would still like to take part, please do join in online, either on Twitter with the #NCGKids hashtag, or in the comments section of this post.

We hope you can join us!
