Join in with next week’s Nosy Crow reading group – we’re discussing Anyone But Ivy Pocket

The Nosy Crow Reading Group is taking place next week – and we’d love for you to join in!

We’ll be meeting on Wednesday, May 20 at 6.30pm, here at the Nosy Crow offices – 10a Lant Street, London, SE1 1QR – to discuss Anyone But Ivy Pocket, the debut novel by Caleb Krisp, with illustrations by John Kelly. We Love this Book call it “funny and engaging […] sure to delight any reader who seeks adventure and mischief”, and the Financial Times describe Ivy herself as “a wonderfully entertaining heroine”.

And as usual, we’ve prepared a few questions in advance to get everyone thinking – here’s some of what we might be talking about:

1. How important is plot in Anyone But Ivy Pocket?

2. Who do you think this book is ‘for’?

3. How successful did you find Krisp’s use of an unreliable narrator?

4. What do you feel the illustrations added to this book? Did they ‘work’ alongside the text?

You can buy the book online here, and at present, there is one place remaining if you’d like to attend! If you’re interested in coming to the reading group, you can register with the form below, or with this link. And if you can’t make it here, but would still like to take part, please do join in online, either on Twitter with the #NCGKids hashtag, or in the comments section of this post.

We hope you can join us!
