Tonight we’re hosting our second Reading Group event here at the Crow’s Nest – we’ll be discussing A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, the first book ever to win both the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway medals – and we’d love for you to take part.
We’ve partnered with The Guardian, who are hosting a discussion page for everyone who’d like to talk about the book – leave your comments here and check back tonight, where there’ll be contributions and updates from all of us here as well. There are also some great A Monster Calls resources available on The Guardian’s site, including a podcast with Patrick Ness, a gallery of Jim Kay’s illustrations, and the first chapter of the book.
You can also join in on Twitter with the #NCGKids hashtag – we’ll be live-tweeting tonight and will incorporate everyone’s tweets into the discussion.
And you can leave comments here as well, and if you have any thoughts or questions about A Monster Calls we’ll raise them during the event.
Our next reading group will take place on August 8 – if you’d like to attend and haven’t already expressed interest, email [email protected]
