Well, the answer is that we did. We had a great meeting today about Pip and Posy (which are shaping up very nicely) with Axel (pictured here with daughter outside the Place of Pie Procurement, Greensmiths, our local “supermarket” where we bought a very fancy and delicious pastry-based lunch to eat back at The Crow’s Nest. One pie was pork, rhubarb and ginger – sounds like a big error, but wasn’t).
The day was warm, the sun was out, and we even had left-over cake from Kate’s baking activity of yesterday. All good.
The Carnegie Medal shortlist was announced today, and it was great to see Philip Reeve’s excellent Fever Crumb on it.
The Kate Greenaway Medal shortlist was also announced.
Really interesting to see Neil Gaiman/Chris Riddell on both lists – a first? – for The Graveyard Book. And not one but two Neil Gaimans (?Gaimen).
