Cold - Nosy Crow Skip to content

The Japanese artist Kawase Hasui (1883–1957) was born in Tokyo. He was a leading printmaker of the Shin-hanga , or ‘new prints’, landscape movement in Japan. This wintry scene is typical of his work: calm and serene, with snow falling onto a temple roof beside an ice-cold pond.
