Feather
Feather, Ruhuwa, Indonesia, 1900s–1960s

People all around the world have used feathers to make pictures or clothes, and especially for decorating hats and headdresses. This feather is from Indonesia, an Asian nation of over 17,000 islands, where the forests are rich in exotic birds. Their strikingly coloured feathers are popular for use in art and costume design. This feather is from a lory, a kind of parrot from Indonesia.
