Flowers - Nosy Crow Skip to content

This painting of three rose blooms is by an English artist, Robert Sargent Austin. Born in Leicester, he was showing work at the Royal Drawing Society when he was only eight years old. Austin went on to become a leading printmaker. During the Second World War he was a war artist, showing the part women played in the war at home and in uniform. Later he designed posters, adverts, and the 10 shilling and one pound notes used in the early 1960s.
