Green bowl

Green bowl
Porcelain bowl, China, 1723–1735

The green bowl may have had many uses since the early 1700s, when it was made in China. It might have held rice, and it is made of glazed porcelain, with elegant decoration cut into the clay. So perhaps it was intended as an ornament, sent for sale in Europe where Chinese porcelain became treasured.
