Silver coin, Roman, 364–378 CE

This old silver coin is Roman, dated 364–378. It was made for the emperor Valens at Trier in what is now the Rhineland of Germany. Valens ruled the Eastern Roman Empire from 363 CE until his death at the Battle of Adrianople in 378 CE.
