Musical instruments come in all shapes and sizes. This bronze trumpet has a wavy, snaky shape and comes from south India. It has loops for the trumpeter to thread with a string so the instrument can hang around the neck.
The trumpet is one of the oldest musical instruments, at least 3,000 years old. The first trumpets were made from wood, sticks, reeds or animal horns and people in India and Tibet blew through trumpets so long that the mouth rested on the ground.
