White

The white dove is seen as a gentle creature and a symbol of peace. It appears in one of the very oldest stories about a great flood, Noah’s Ark in the Bible. The dove flies back to the Ark with signs of hope, carrying a twig in its beak that shows the flood is going down. The dove with an olive branch was an early Christian symbol and the white dove of peace drawn by the artist Pablo Picasso (1949) is also used by the peace movement.
