A Chase in Time is The Times’ Children’s Book of the Week

This Summer we published A Chase in Time: the first book in a brilliant new time-slip adventure series for 7+ readers, written by Sally Nicholls, winner of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, and with artwork by Brett Helquist, illustrator of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.

And over the weekend, The Times named A Chase in Time as their Children’s Book of the Week!

Alex O’Connell writes:

“The author of Things a Bright Girl Can Do — an excellent young-adult novel about suffragettes — returns with the first in a new series for younger readers … It’s perfect for those who aren’t quite ready for time-travel classics such as Tom’s Midnight Garden, Charlotte Sometimes and, er, Back to the Future, but who might be thrilled by the idea of two contemporary children explaining what a mobile phone is to Edwardian children in knickerbockers … Nicholls is a great storyteller and this is a clever vehicle for introducing the differences between then and now in an accessible way, with a fast-paced plot and a lovely spooky ending … My clock’s ticking for the next in the series.”
